Welcome

Here I will highlight and update my ambitious attempt to complete the “7 Summits” --the highest mountains on the 7 continents (some say 8!) -- by successfully climbing Mt Everest in late May 2010.

So why take on such a daunting challenge and adventure?? I guess for me my personal motivation card, which I carry and read every day, sums it up with its ending phrase: "Live Life Large and Get Involved!"

Few challenges can be more exhilarating and daunting for a very regular guy like me than climbing the world's great mountains in nature's most incredibly beautiful locations. And and to be able to do so while getting 'involved' by dedicating my climb to raising much needed financial support for four great nonprofit organizations that I am actively engaged with, sure helps to bring my slogan to life for me on a daily basis.

I don't know the secrets of life or the universe but I do know that taking on challenges, extending one's limits, having fun with great companions, and pitching in to help others sure adds meaning and fulfillment to my life.

I encourage you to join me in spirit in my quest to climb the world's highest mountain by following my updates, exploring all the features of this web site, and by clicking on the links to the great causes and organizations so you can learn more about them and consider joining me in supporting their important work.

Many thanks for your interest, good wishes, prayers and support as I embark on the greatest challenge of my life! :-) All I promise to myself and you is to give this climb my very, very best effort, and to be sure and fulfill the great Ed Viestur's maxim: "To summit is optional. To get back down safely is mandatory"......cause we all have a lot of adventures, challenges and great causes to engage in going forward, no matter the outcome of this great Everest adventure!

Carpe Diem and happy hiking!
